Article 8 of charter amendment okayed
THE NATION

BANGKOK: -- THE HOUSE-SENATE joint meeting yesterday voted 362:115 to approve Article 8 of the Constitution amendment that says an election should be held within 45 days to replace a senator, unless the Senate's term has less than 180 days left.

The second reading of the charter amendment has entered its 11th day.

On Monday night, the meeting voted 336:11 to approve Article 7, which sets each Senate term at six years and requires that an election be held within 45 days after the end of each term.

The Article was approved even though the Democrat MPs insisted that the meeting lacked quorum - a point that was clearly ignored by Senate Speaker Nikom Wairatpanij, who is also Parliament president.

Keep pushing the amendments through, quorum or not it does not

matter,we all know why and what the final result will be.

While the PM is on her way to Montenegro to personally thank it's government for giving her criminal fugitive brother a new passport, back home her PMs are doing a very good job pushing through charter amendments.

What a country.
