My ED Visa Has Expired,What are my options now ?

Featured Replies

I do not want to go back to School at the moment, want to go up north, what are my options now? If Any!

Tourist visas or visa exempt entry if allowed.

Two entry tourist visa from Vientiane would be the best option.

What is your age?

How long is the Tourist Visa good for? I am 68

Each entry of a tourist visa is 60 days that can be extended by 30 days at immigration.

A 2 entry can give you about 6 months.

If you can meet the financial requirements you could get an extension for retirement.

You would need proof of 65k baht Income or 800k baht or a combination of the 2 to reach the 800k number.

Can this be done Cambodia? How Much Cost ?

You are asking about two entry tourist visa? Only Laos (Vientiane/Savannakhet) is likely to issue in the area and each entry is 1,000 baht visa fee.

Cambodia only a single entry and it can take 4 days to get it.

Laos 2 entry and pickup next afternoon.

So now you are on overstay? Your options are getting expensive by the day. Do the TR until you get sorted out, and do it now, so you don't waste 500 THB daily over procrastinating. Good luck. I hope I can type when I am 68, LOL.

I will be getting a married visa in December !

  • Author

Now i am confused, is a 6 month visa or 90 days, i wish people could get there facts right! some body said 60 days then immigration for 30 day extension!

I will be getting a married visa in December !

You could get a single non-o visa for being over 50 that would get you to near the end of December and then you could get extension based upon marriage using it.

Vientiane will do your non-o with only passport to prove your age.

That was about visa validity.

You get a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days.

I haven't contributed a while so I'll explain the double entry visa.

Both people are right, it is good for 6 months, and it is valid for 90 days.

Here's how it works.

You get a double entry visa (seems Vientienne is best bet).

It is valid 90 days, meaning both entries must be used within 90 days (here Entry is the important word)

Each Entry will get you 60 days in Thailand, but that can be extended at immigration for an additional 30 days.

So here's the plan to get 6 months out if it:

Enter Thailand with the first entry of your visa, you are good for 60 days.

Before the 60 days are up, go to immigration and extend it for 30 more days.

Before those 30 days are up, leave and re-enter Thailand to activate the second entry (Mai Sai is nice up north on the Myanmar boarder). Make sure to reenter before the 90 day validity period of the visa.

Now you have 60 more days with that second entry.

Extend that again for 30 more days at immigration.

So all together you have 180 days = about 6 months.

I will attempt to post again as this is a topic I have much knowledge in and have no intention to misguide or recommend anything unlawful or illegal as I am a law-abiding member of society although I may have jay-walked from time to time.

Now, since your ED visa has expired no need for me to reiterate my prior deleted post. Moving forward...

A 60day double entry tourist visa equals 120days (4months BE CAREFUL as some months have 31days and you will overstay like I did by accident)

However each of those 60days can be extended an additional 30days for 1900THB each. The extension can be done at an immigration office, in person, fill out a form, 2 photos etc...

So it goes something like this - [60days then 1900THB adds 30days = 90 then do a well known "visa run" land/air does not matter for your 2nd set of 60days then 1900THB adds 30days = TOTAL 180DAYS or 6months BE CAREFUL on months with 31days

The "visa run" you can do yourself or by the many legal services available by googleing or asking around.

Again, I am YeaBiGgiEs and I have spoken on this day!

You must be joking ... and not in the funny sense. Really gratuitous age-bashing.

Really appreciate your help, but you man no good to me, I dont think I am in Pattaya! If somebody knows somebody here would be good!

I thought they lowered it to 40K a month?

That is if you are married to a Thai national or have a child with Thai nationality.

It's complicated, isn't it? If you still want a suggestion please contact me at ((email removed)). Just got a retirement visa last month in a legal way and never left the country. Explain your current status in detail.
