Lite Beer Posted September 12, 2013 Share Posted September 12, 2013 False alarm as Brit decides not to make Phuket leap of despair Naraporn Tuarob PHUKET: Police were called to a hotel in Patong around 2.30am today (September 12) after reports that a British man was preparing to jump off a room balcony after a fight involving his British girlfriend and a Thai bargirl.Police said the man, Michael, in his 30s, went to Bangla Rd in Patong with his British girlfriend Gemma last night. Later on that evening, a bar girl reportedly came to talk to the couple while they were drinking at a bar.It appears Gemma got jealous, the couple fought, and returned to the hotel with Gemma demanding a separate room.The row apparently plunged Michael into despair. He climbed out onto the balcony of the hotel and it appeared he was about to jump. Hotel staff promptly contacted police.However, by the time officers arrived at the hotel, Michael was back in his room. Also the news paper clippings you can take home with you to remind you what a tool you were. Imagine if he got up on that roof then tripped. Oh well, such is life. He didn't trip, but can now look forward to forever being ridiculed by what may be his now Ex-Girlfriend, and the mutual friends they once shared.
