I know I have read this somewhere before, but cannot locate now.

Can 1 parent renew a childs passport if the second parent gives a letter and passport copy or even the original for the other parent to go and complete ?

If so, and sure I read it was ok, anything else they need to take ? Does letter have to be translated ?

A numpty that the missus just rang to ask said no, no way, both must go....I not believe numpty.

Best is to have the permisison from the parent that does not accompany the child legalsed notarized by the local amphur.

She just called the Bangkok office and spoke with someone else, they said both parents must attend and sign if both living in Thailand....if one parent overseas etc other arrangements can be made.....no mention of this amphur caper.

A letter of consent notarized by the amphoe from absent parent can be used.
