Porntipa Supattanukul, the TV show’s founder, revealed that her staff went to Thammasat University a few months ago to interview students about the effect of the political situation and economic problems on students.

Out of twenty students interviewed, Aum Neko’s answer insulted the Royal Institute of Thailand and had nothing to do with the original question.

When asked by the shocked TV staff why she thought that way, Aum Neko said she wouldn’t even respect her mother. [read more...]

Outragious statements and over the top expression provoke people to react, talk, think and question.

"insulted the Royal Institute"

an Institute can not be insulted....only people can.

Oh so she waited a few months to report this 'crime'. So she's going to screen the footage of this Aum and get a ratings boost?

I think it was an excellent poster ad. It achieved exactly what it set out to archive. It certainly made me think about girls in school uniforms.

No crime committed. This is supposed to be a Democracy and citizens have the right to Free Speech. Pictures "imply" and may be considered "risque" but not offensive. You can not insult an inanimate object, only living people. Another "Black Mark" on the government brilliant thinking.

Yes it certainly seems that this outrage has only surfaced when there's free publicity to be had

After reading the interview, I think we have not heard the last from Aum, the times they are achanging.

Again a total overreaction by an establishment in fear of loosing influence and power!

The law apparently is still an ass.

The unwritten law is "Decent will be silenced in Thailand."

Thailand has no Free Speech at all. It doesn't even pretend to have it.

Oh, it does pretend!

It is a democracy, didn't you know?

No the Junta is an a$$, there IS no law in Thailand, because the influential people ARE the law

Oh please 'right to free speech' with the archaic lese majesty and defamation laws here? Give me a break.

for a country that put a lot of store in face saving, they seem to have the knack of loosing face with these idiotic complaints. Pathetic!

Land of the free, home of the brave. Go Thailand! Yay!

Fully clothed people in close proximity, well isn't that brave.

First of all you can have democracy without free speech and you can have dictatorship with free speech. The form of government isn't important to it.

Thailand is constitutional monarchy.

Well Thailand pretends but in such a weak way that no one will seriously believe it.

You have the lese majeste laws.

You are not allowed to discredit Buddhism (and other religions)

You are not allowed to insult other heads of countries (referring to that law my posting rights got suspended once).

P0rn is banned (and who decides what is allowed and what not)

there numerous movies that are banned in Thailand

there are harsh defamation laws that are complete over the point of protecting people

there is a huge amount of webpages that can't be accessed from Thailand

Yes, so much for "free speech", an increasingly threatened attribute of a free society. What next?

...my sarcasm didn't hit home with you, it seems!

You're a lightweight. A true pervert like myself doesn't need reminding about girls in school uniforms. I need reminding not to think about them.

I think it might have been better to leave this alone. This is just giving more publicity.

I'll donate to her defense fund

What exactly is the crime supposed to be? Is it the photos or insulting the Royal Institute of Thailand? In spite of its name, the latter has nothing to do with the royal family and is under the direct command of the prime minister (according to wikipedia), so what's the crime?

More likely a ladyboy that can't wear a girls uniform for her school ID making a fuss than a true call for democracy in a school.

Face it kids, do what the teacher tells you or risk getting bent over teachers knee for a spanking!

Thailand (LOS) = Land of Stupidity

As Bob Dylan once sang " The times they are a changing " wake up Thailand this is the 21st Century !!!!!!!
