Hertz Car Rental from BKK to CNX

Featured Replies

Hi,

Normally I rent from Thai Car Rent but to my surprise Hertz turned out cheaper. Also, the former needed a credit card to book while Hertz didn't require it. I do have to wait for their confirmation email and I haven't got it yet.

However, their Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) seems quite expensive, 535 per day for a car like the Fortuner (max 3210 THB) compared to Thai Car Rent.

Are there any other options out there? I suppose it probably is recommended to get the SCDW in Thailand.

Thanks

Matt

How does this quote compare overall, certainly insurance waiver at 300THB a day cheaper. This is for a 7 day one way rental BKK-CM in October for a Fortuner. I rented a Toyota Ventury from them earlier this year and found them to be very good and certainly the cheapest quote I got. No deposit either.

Looks like Hertz or Thai Car Rent is better unless you are renting for a long period as the car from Sixt is cheaper.

If the rental period is 5 days or more, they don't charge you the one way fee of 3500/2000 THB respectively.

I noticed that, strange thing is when I rented in July there was also no charge for one way over 5 day period and now its coming up over all durations even for the 10 day period I rented on. Wondering if it's a computer glitch as I know they are trying to make themselves very competitive. Might be worth a call.

Look up travel guard. There are a few others also. Im using my credit card, but that has its own set of issues.

Sent from my traveling tab.

He's only planning to travel to CM, why move this to Visa's and migration forum, has Chiang Mai declared independence ?blink.png

I called but they didn't seem to want to explain to me about the 1 way fee and keep insisting that I go to the website. I gave up after several calls, and I am making them from outside of Thailand which is rather inconvenient.

Hertz canceled my booking as they ran out of cars.

In the end, I had to go through Thai Car Rent.
