September 21, 201312 yr Hi, I will arrive back in on a 30 day stamp from incoming flight next month. I will then apply for a new passport. Can I then go to get a new tourist visa and show the embassy both passports? G
September 22, 201312 yr You will just need to show both passports on departure. Immigration will then stamp your entry/permitted to stay date from old passport in the new one and stamp you out of the the country. No need to show old passport anymore after that.

G If you're entering Thailand using a 30 day visa exemption and getting a new passport from your embassy in Thailand, which embassy are you going to for the tourist visa? Do you mean you're then going to go out of Thailand to a Thai embassy in a neighboring country to apply for a tourist visa? Presumably you would show both passports to Thai immigrations when you exit the country and then just use your new passport to apply for a tourist visa at the Thai embassy. Immigrations in Thailand do not issue tourist visas. Will your embassy accept your application for a passport if you are here on a visa exemption and then ensure you get your new passport before your 30 days permission to stay ends? I hope so on both counts yes! And yes, I will apply for a new one in Laos.
