PHUKET: Normally, Wanchit “DJB” Sonsaree would spend nights as a volunteer with the Kamala Ruamkatanyu Rescue Foundation, attending the injured and dealing with the dead, but yesterday afternoon (September 22) DJB crossed over to the dark side, inflicting damage instead of curing it.

Floods inundate a quarter of Thailand's provinces, warnings issued

BANGKOK, Sept 23 - Thailand must speed up its exports given disappointing growth at only 1 per cent in the first eight months of this year and a predicted failure to achieve the projected 7-7.5 per cent growth for the entire year, Deputy Prime Minister/Commerce Minister Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisarn said today.

Govt's statement to Parliament to start tomorrow

BANGKOK: -- The House of Representatives will spend 15 hours to hear and review the government's policies implemented in the previous year.

Amnuay Klangpa, chief of government whips, said the government is allocated 7 hours to reveal the policies implemented in its second year, while the Opposition has 8 hours to scrutinise the policies.

The session will be broadcast live on TV Channel 11.

Amnuay expects that the session would be wrapped up within two days.

Deputy House Speaker Charoen Chankomol expected no commotion during the session.
