My partner and I have a similar situation with her (my partners)13yr old daughter who is chatting with a Tom till all early hours of the morning. Apparently the Tom is older than her but attends the same school or previously did, a few details are still unclear but there is no point in banning her from the computer as she has a smartphone which they socialize thru.

Her mum is starting to fret abit about it as is the Tom's mum who has also come to our shop and had words with us wanting it to cease.

I'm not sure as who has instigated the relationship nor do I care but hopefully it is a phase and she grows out of it or until she finishes school and is old enough to make a mature choice about who she wants to be and be with.

Saw this firsthand in the Army years ago - young girls would join at 17, get screwed over by their first head-over-heels boyfriend, rock up to their Initial Employment Training and find themselves seeking solace in the arms of one of the butch lesbians on the base. 3 months later, Little Girl Lost is posted to a unit somewhere far away and Corporal Butch gets a new girlfriend (or two ..) from the next batch. Granted, there were one or two male cooks in on this endless buffet of new talent, but it was the lesbians who annoyed the hell out of me given the Army's strict policy on (male) homosexuality. Crusty old buggers who wrote that rulebook didn't seem to comprehend that lesbian women might be attracted to a career where acting like a man would be rewarded. ;)

Still, I'm with corkythecat - would the OP really be happier to have his daughter chatting to a 16-year old Thai guy at midnight ? Isn't this pretty muich the same nightmare that every parent of teenage daughters is forced to confront by 14 or 15 anyway ? Whatever emotional toll this may have on Nip's daughter, at least she wont have to contend with an unwelcome pregnancy.

So many on here seem to be missing the point. The point of the op as I see it is a warning to other parents that there are female pedo's out there as well as male pedo's. And yes I consider a 26 year old adult female preying on a 14 year old child a pedo just as I consider a 26 year old adult male preying on children to be one.

Some on here seem to be excusing this behaviour simply because it's a female who is the predator.

A 14yo is almost a young adult.....not quite the same in the true context of the words of a Pedo preying on the very young and innocent.....there is a difference, you should learn what it is.

Does not mean I agree at all with a 26yo trying it on with a 14yo.......

Is almost an adult like being almost pregnent?

Look I get your point but there needs to be a line and 14 is below the line.

14 is borderline, it depends on the individual one would imagine, some over the line, some under.

I have a daughter and obviously that line will always be set high from my view point. But then their is reality that no father really wants to face.

I had dinner last weekend with a friend whom has a 14yo boy and he is incredibly mature and looks at least 16, quite easily 17 and built like it. Girls are supposed to mature quicker they say.

Below the line is universally prepubescent, lets say 12yo and under, a line needs to be drawn and that is it.

Unfortunately the 14/16 year ages are a grey area, depends on the individuals. But sex is happening at that age and if kids of that age are determined to do it, god help you trying to stop it, you will not. I used to climb out my bedroom window and run off to the girls house not so far away and she was 2 years older than me, I was 15.

But the much older hooking up with the much younger ones like in this case, 14 and 26, is not acceptable.

Same same 70 and 25 is not in my books.....but that is more about taking advantage and looking the fool than anything else.

Problem is what to do about it. Yes if there has been sexual contact whether male or female you can contact the police and however reluctantly the police will take action. they will try to avoid it as they see, and quite reasonably that action can have worse consequences for all invoved.

If you do this your daughter is unlikely to consider you any kind of friend and any further input from you in all matters will be ignored.

You can here force your daughter to stay at home... in most countries you cannot. The police will assist you with this but again you will not have a daughter,

You can disconnect the internet but if you do internet is available in a wide variety of internet cafes where lots of other things are available too.

You can shut down her facebook and in five minutes she can have another.l.

You can take her smartphone and restrict her cash so she cannot use it. This will not stop her obtaining her own and in this country there are many ways she can do so.

Being realistic you can only guide and hope. Generally things do turn out ok in the end. Resisting too much is almost certain to mean losing your daugher...or at least the relationship you used to share.
