Diablo Bob
Been out and about as normal and have been surprised by the amount of tourist in town. I know I am getting older and don't remember as well as I used to, but to me, it seems like there has been a significant increase in tourists in comparison to the last few years. Anybody else notice this? Is there something significant drawing them up North? It can't be the temperatures since we have either been matching BKK or been slightly higher the past few weeks. Any ideas? Edited April 24, 2006 by Diablo Bob
Ulysses G.
The number of tourists has been going up ever since Thaksin started promoting Chiang Mai. He did some good things.
Maejo Man
The number of tourists has been going up ever since Thaksin started promoting Chiang Mai.He did some good things. Such as the incompete underpasses on the Superhighway which are desperate for increased funding, which seems to have dried up since the head waiter left the restaurant
Ajarn
What has Thaksin given to Chiang Mai besides the Night Safari? All the middle roads and such were on the books since before Thaksin came to power.... I can't think of anything else he has done for Chiang Mai. How could he have increased tourism to Chiang Mai? Everything he has ever done has been for himself and his family, as far as I can tell.
