What are the downsides of a Wise card
Thanks for that tidbit. I knew of the freeze functionality but misunderstood the unfreeze. I had mistakenly thought after freezing, one might be required to get a new card. And I had mistakenly thought the unfreeze only useful for new cards. What you note could be highly useful. Thanks for that suggestion. -

UK personal allowance and tax in Thailand
Yes this will be an issue for those with income levels under the personal threshold, they may pay no tax in the UK, but with end up with a tax liability in Thailand due to lower allowances, and with no tax paid in the UK no tax credits on Thailand. It may be an issue with capital gains from a property sale also, IF taxed on bringing into Thailand. In the UK there is (a now smaller than before) annual exempt amount 3000GBP, but more importantly if you have rented out your UK home to move to Thailand the UK gives PRR relief for the time you lived in the property +9 months, and if it has been rented for a long time whilst UK Non resident you can rebase the purchase price to April 2015, so gains are only calculated from April 2015 to sold date in the UK. -

Do you know the important part of above? It's the fact that Biden struggle with the decision. As father, he obviously wants to support his son, as president, he knows that he shouldn't use his position for personal reasons. For Trump this would be much easier. He pardons just everybody who he likes and who gives him something in return. -

Marrying a Thai Wife: Overrated or Underrated?
I think it's probably great, but you need to find yourself a good one, just like in every country or with every nationality. I do think one advice that stands out for me is that it is wise to stay away from the family. My girlfriend prefers to keep distance to the family without my asking it, so that's a good thing. -
