October 6, 201312 yr I know this isn't the best website to ask this kind of question on but its my favorite forum, so I'll try here first. I have a wordpress blog that is starting to get to the top of google on a few search terms for my blog posts.... I'm having a problem though. Google will display the title of my blog post and a snipit of my blog post properly, but then it just links you to my homepage..... This is an issue obviously because as my blog grows it will be impossible to find the article you want to read buried 5 pages back you know? Anyone have any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? I prefer not to give my website name out.... I tried to find anyone else having this problem online but had no success.
October 6, 201312 yr 1. Make a site map for your website. http://www.top10wordpress.com/what-are-the-best-wordpress-sitemaps-plugins/ 2. Perhaps Google still allows a web-master to "build-in" a "Google custom search" dedicated for your own website ? - although this is perhaps slightly overcomplicated if you have less than 100 pages and just need a kind of indexing system. October 6, 201312 yr I did a Google search with "why this blog". Several search results were links to posts on Wordpress blogs and each of these links brought me directly to the post in question. Is your problem perhaps a different one? The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
October 7, 201312 yr Author Yea it should bring you directly to the post.... but all my google links bring u to the homepage. .. like there is something wrong with the indexing maybe? Sent from my GT-I9500
October 7, 201312 yr I don't have a Wordpress blog but I suggest you look at your settings for the blog. The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
October 7, 201312 yr It's not a problem of your settings. Wordpress apparently indexes every post in several different ways, giving several links for the same text search, and only one of them leads directly to the post containing the searched text. Look at this search I did: Lots of links to the Worldpress blog containing the searched text in one post, and I get even more search results when I click on "repeat the search with the omitted results included" at the bottom of the last page. The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
