Remote control cars

Anyone know any good shops with plenty of choice, not the Robinsons type of crap....in the Sukhumvit area, not have to be immediate area, but easy to get to from there.

The remote 4wd type sand dune kinda cars, can cover rough terrain and grass etc and go quick.

From the BTS station at Udom Suk on Sukhumvit road, a 60 baht taxi ride gets you to Seacon Square - that has several long-established RC shops as good as any you'll find in Thailand. There's a great one in the basement near Kasikorn bank.

Thanks

take a look at this little number. Just appeared this week on my favourite Chinese internet shop, who deliver to your door. (they also have others)

Radio Controlled Airsoft tank replica of the Snow Leopard shooting 6mm BB’s and equipped with moving turret and barrel. Add this 1/16 scale model of the iconic WWII Tiger I to your collection today.

The 1/16 scale replica of the famous Tiger 1 can be remotely controlled using the included controller and lets you drive forwards, backwards, turn 360 degrees around your axis, shoot 6mm BB pellets up to 25 meters far, turn the turret 320 degree and move the barrel up and down. Crafted with a unique eye for detail, the Tiger 1 features a high level finish and comes equipped with full suspension caterpillar chains. Reaching a top speed of 15mph (24km/hour), this tank is a real collector’s item and the ultimate RC toy at the same time.

The Tiger I Tank was the Nazi’s answer to the unexpectedly impressive Soviet armor encountered in the initial months of the Axis invasion of the Soviet Union. Effective against both air and ground targets, the Tiger I saw combat on all German battlefronts. Usually deployed in independent tank battalions, the Tiger I was feared by many of its opponents but it was over-engineered, used expensive and labor intensive production methods. $USD66.00

The bts station in udon suk sukhamvit

What is there if you do not mind my asking/

I am looking for cars like these...

Remote-Control-Cars.jpg

But with a range of choice if possible....anyone know where to go for these?

I have been to the centre mentioned above in seacon square, found the few stalls in the market/souvenir type section on upper floor, but very few cars there, no choice basically and the one in the basement near the bank seems to be gone as nothing near that kasikorn bank now.

The Pattaya R/C club are having a big event this weekend and they normally have a variety of stalls selling these products.

Located Pattaya Sukhumvit 89, Nong Hin Soi 5

Im not familiar with that location on the Sukhumvit in Pattaya. Can you give me a landmark to look for? I built and flew RC planes in the USA and would love to do that again.

thanks.

Buck, just get onto Sukhumvit and head towards Sattahip, you'll come to soi 89. Just follow the RC signs. It's not a bad setup - even has a lake for boats. If you go further inland, you'll come to a model aircraft airfield. Go up soi 83, till you see the bungy jump sign, turn left at the sign and just keep following your nose.

How much are those kits and is there any import duties for them here ?

Not interested in high performance machines as these are for kids, but certainly the ones I have seen here would do the trick, water kinda proof, can tackle rough terrain, fast enough for kids fun and they were circa 5-8k baht

Can you send me a link to this ebay stuff if suitable for kids?

Nice shop (or at least there was) on the ground floor of Seacon Square, Srinakarin.

Went looking there and could not find, found the Kasikorn bank, but no RC shop.

Might try RCA as mentioned above if they have a good selection.

Does the shop in RCA have a lot of choice? Easy to find?

Which shop mentioned above would you consider to be the best for choice and price etc and kinda easy to find/get to from Sukhumvit?

The Tamiya distributer at RCA is a great shop, sells RC as well as static models. The only downside is that the prices are higher than the dealers that are scattered around. It is pretty much opposite Route 66 so its easy to find.

RCS , FRC and BeHobby have a good selection and good prices, even if you have t travel a bit further.

You need to get yourself over to Sapaan Lek (สะพานเหล็ก) near China Town.

Literally 100's of shops there in a big market, you will find everything from cheap stuff upto 30k+ petrol cars.

The free postage was for america shouldve checked that and almost the same price as car to get shipped,do you have local auction sites id say check there first cheaper the better for brands such as tamiya/hpi,kyosho because the thing about stores is they mark the price up almost 3x the price specially for brands such as tamiya etc Which is why I buy off ebay straight from manafacturers wharehouses.and later on you can upgrade to better elecs and motor for 1500-2000baht.
