Driving from Mukdahan to Rayong

Featured Replies

Hi I am driving down to Rayong from Mukdahan on Sunday and wondered if any members could advise me on any major road closures due to flooding

My planned route is 304 from Korat then

331.and 36 .

Grateful for any heads up

Suggest you stop by both your local highway police station and the local office of the highway department and ask them for ideas.

The news looks pretty grim in Kabin Buri, and on down 304 to Phnom Sarakham. Haven't seen any reports about 331. Rayong area, "area" not specified, has had some flooding.

Ah, also ask at your local bus station and when you get to Korat, check in at the bus station there, too.

Surprised if 304 down to Rayong would be subject to flooding. The top two thirds of that route was one of the few routes open to get from Isaan to Bangkok in the flooding of two years ago and none of it is low lying ground. Maybe the odd area prone to a quick flash flood but I doubt anything standing long term.

I heard the 304 was impassable yesterday on that route. Driving from Pattaya to Nong Khai myself tomorrow and would usually take the 304 but will be going via Bangkok just in case this time on the Motorway/highway 2.

No problems Rayong end 36 is fine

Still see the Muk-Rayong busses coming down the 331. I believe Kabinburi and down to the 304 industrial areas are under water but how deep, I don't know.

Good luck. It is a long drive. Better split it up and research next leg before attempting it.
