Digital Inverter Technology

Featured Replies

Since there was not any provision in the Tech Forums for this particular topic I have posted it here as more and more products in the LOS are using Digital Inverter Technology.

DIT has been around for a while now and is slowly being rolled out in many appliances Microwave Ovens, Refrigerators, Air Conditioning Units, Washing Machines, Water Pumps and others. Of course these products cost a bit more to buy right at the moment, but the savings, in the long run, are real. Prices will eventually come down too.

Recently I bought a new Samsung Fridge. Exactly TWICE the size of my older 'conventional' two door, frost free, Samsung Fridge. Including a Chilled Water dispenser and Ice Maker.

I also, at the same time, recently had visitors from Oz where extra appliances in the home were being used daily. Air Con, Hot Water, Light etc., and although under these circumstances it was going to be difficult to calculate I have been very keen to see what my next Electricity Bill was going to be.

it arrived today and to my utmost surprise it turned out to be less than last months bill!

DIT is quieter, you can hardly hear it, unless until when the Ice Maker Drops the Ice into the container in the freezer. And because the motor does not have to work so hard, as it does in conventional appliances, a 10 year warranty is given.

All in all I am pretty impressed.
