any software or online tool to transliterate from english to thai?

Featured Replies

I need to convert english words into thai for registering company names etc. Does anyone know of any software, app or website that can do this?

e.g.

input: international

output: อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล

There's no one way of Thai-ising English words. Most people who do this sort of stuff have their own views on what is "right" and what is "wrong". It's very much ad hoc.

However, the official scheme is the RTGS. There's an application available at http://pioneer.chula.ac.th/~awirote/resources/thai-romanization.html which should do the job for you. (No guarantees about accuracy, though.)

That's the wrong way round. The question is English to Thai, which ought to be simpler. The starting point would be an English pronouncing dictionary, or for an approximate scheme, start from [Hau]http to pronounse Inglish. For the conversion to the Thai script, see Transcribing English (or look up the original on the Royal Institute web site.)

I don't know of any one who's put all this together.
