Package tour to Singapore / done it? recommendations?

Featured Replies

We want to spend 3-4 days in SG, not luxury but very nice. Has anyone done this with a package tour?

Want it very easy, everything programmed , no decisions. In case of relevance= Starting point is Chiang Mai, not Phuket ( should change my profile name)

I've taken my family to SG on two separate occasions but as a FIT (free independent traveler) basis. Choosing a package is good

but your freedom is lost. You may not enjoy some part of the package tours, etc and also if you are traveling with children.

You might want to check out the ' asiatravel.com ' site under the singapore tab (hotels & ground tours) will have a plenty of

ground tour options such as Universal studio, flywheel, duck tour, Lego-land in Malaysia. I actually booked my ground tours through

Asiatravel and found this company to be excellent and very price competitive.

good luck

Been many time with my ex, gf and with my daughter from age 3-15

Singpaore is too easy to do things so why do a tour?

Book a good hotel,

head to Sentosa, the Aquarium, Butterfly garden ride around, See what you wish to do an do it,

The zoo by taxi or bus

all easy to do and a tour wont save u any money as they usually inculding things you really dont want t do to fill the program out.

I guess you are both right, package tours can be rather restrictive. So I will do it on our own. Which area is fun to walk, window shopping, the thing that is impossible to find in Thailand-------------fun to walk

Singapore is the easest Asian country to get around in, easy to just go your self.

Hotels are "expensive", you can find some OK ones for about $80 a night on Agoda sometimes.

THE MRT system (links to the airport) is great and very easy to use. Cabs are not that bad eithier price wise, it is really nice to just esaape all the scams for a break.

one word for what u will not find in Bangkok

SENTOSA!!!! http://www.sentosa.com.sg/en/

take the cable car over, bus back, buy a multi ticket that also inculdes the aquarium, ride around on the tram, visit the casino ( wear long pants an take ur passport to get in) good food court, see the Merlion light show at night

Its a full day an evening,

Orchard road is where the main shopping malls are and the Thai Embassy and great bookstores and coffee shops, Rock hard is right off near the ToysrUs

but there are large malls spread out around the city never more than a $S5 away

The zoo is about a $S15 ride

IF you have the $$$ stay Resorts World or Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa boht on Sentosa, used to stay there all the time when I went with my daugter, without a doubt one of the BEST breakfest buffets i have been too
