Spouse visa requirements

Featured Replies

I just renewed my retirement extension and plan to bring my wife from China. She is Chinese citizen and I am American citizen. What requirements do I need to apply for her visa in Thailand?

Thanks in advance.

She should obtain a non immigrant O visa prior to travel to Thailand on the basis of your marriage and your one year extension of stay for retirement. Then she can obtain dependent extensions of stay within Thailand to match your extensions.

Thanks for the reply. Are there extra requirements such as bank deposit/income? I just renewed my extension on 800k in the bank.

She will need to get a single entry non-o visa from the embassy or one of the consulates in China. She will need copies of your passport photo page and extension of stay page plus your marriage certificate.

After arriving here if your marriage certificate is not in English you would need it translated to Thai and have it certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Then during the last 30 days of her entry apply for a dependent extension. Same copies of your passport plus TM6 departure card. Her passport copies including entry stamp and visa. TM6 card. And the marriage certificate.

No financial proof is needed.
