Please Check Land Border Travel Visa Info

This is an open call to somebody presently in Pattaya to please ask at any of the travel visa companies about a land border crossing for a USA citizen. Posts on the VIsa Forum have hinted that land border crossings are now giving the old 30 days instead of what had been15 days. Can somebody please ask any company there if they are aware of that? I don't see anything in the news. I am in Ao Nang in Krabi right now and if I can do a simple land border crossing it will make my travels so much eaiser if I extend my stay another month.

Any "eyes on the ground" reports would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

OK. Good news for you. Now, how about a change back to 30 days for a USA citizen? Last month I did my land visa run using the little visa shop inside the Robin's nest on Soi Lengkee. Darn if I can find the receipt and their phone number so I can call them and ask them to check on any changes from 15 back to 30 and for what countries that applies to. I am doubting it will be for USA, but it would be extremely convenient if it is.

No member from the USA has reported yet getting a 30-day visa-exempt permission to stay at a land border, but the general assumption at the moment is that this new rule applies to the seven so-called G7 countries, ie Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK, USA.

I just spoke with the visa company inside Witherspoon's. She understood my question, and called me back ten minutes later and said she talked to immigration man at border and he did not know of any change. She said one of her customers this week went and still only got 15 days.

I just spoke with Key Visa and earlier with 1st class visa runs inside witherspoons. Both have not heard of any change to the 15 days land crossings and both had customers this week. Will wait for more news. Optimism crushed!

I just talked with a lady named Tanya at the following website. She guranteed that it is in effect for the G-7 countries effective Nov 7. Now, if true, that doesn't mean that all the provincial border crossings or officials are aware of it. The "law" seems to originate from a different branch of government (economic development versus Immigration) or something like that. So it might take a while for this to promulgate around. Two of the more advertised Visa companies I spoke with in Pattaya were not aware of it.

This visa company seems to use the Poipet Casino Resort. crossing location.

I am convinced enough such that tomorrow after I fly from Krabi up to BKK I plan to book with her. Her office is over near the Asoke BTS across from soi 15 off of sukhumvit.
