Larger car and driver to/from Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Featured Replies

We are looking for a taxi or car/driver service with a larger car to take us and pick us up from the Prachuap Khiri Khan area. I contacted a few but none serve that area.

We are 4 adults and 1 toddler with a car seat so we need a vehicle larger than the standard Taxi. We will be leaving from the West side of Bangkok.

Know of any reputable services? Seat belts and a flexible schedule so we can stop when we need to with the toddler are important to us.

Thanks!

Do you or your partner speak Thai?

I can speak basic (survival) Thai which is usually enough to get around by taxi. We are only here for 6 months so we only got to survival level.

We've rented vans several times from BKK. One we used was a friend of my wife's hairdresser. We got another from a travel agency located just down the road. Another was a friend of a friend.

They aren't easy to find. Maybe others can help. I know a few, but they are located in Pattaya. I can check and see if they will do this.

Thanks for the info. We will see what we can turn up. Last trip we used the train without any problems but this time road seems to be the better choice given the recent protests.

In similar situations with visiting friends or family we've privately hired a mini-van... I wouldn't hesitate to do the same.

Van's have a bad reputation in Thailand, but under private hire the drivers are good (in my experience).

The company we used were very good:

The Van; a Toyota D4D, had seat belts, drivers were careful and considerate, helped with kids and bags etc..

In 2009 the rates were:

In Bangkok: THB 1800 + Fuel

Out of Bangkok: THB 1950 + Fuel + 400B (driver accommodation).

I'm sure they can do single journey requests too...

Items I was very specific about in my communications:

3 point seat belts (suitable for child seats).

Prices in and out of Bangkok.

Timing: 12 hrs a day: 10am to 10pm

Cost of additional service hours after 10pm (200b/hr).

PM me if you want any details.
