Hi-I have been hearing about a BOI visa which I assume is an investment visa which I hear allows a two yuear stay without 90 day check-in-so anyone with experience with this visa please explain here what needs to be done etc. to recieve this visa.Thanks so much.

In reality it no longer exists unless you start up a company through the BOI with a significant investment and a load of paperwork.

With a 10 million baht investment you can get a one year extension of stay at immigration under clause 2.5 of police order 777/2551.

BOI visa can be one of two things:

- a visa based on investment, which no longer goes through the BOI. (See above post)

- an extension of stay if working for a company that falls under the BOI incentives and can make use of the One Stop Service center. They indeed get extensions of stay for 2 years instead of one.
