Former Thai PM Chuan says Yingluck was not ready to be prime minister

"wasn't ready", should be substituted with "will never be ready, or is a fit and proper person to undertake such a role".

Undertake such a role? 555 yeah because she has a great deal to live up to looking at the last 20 years.

If that moron George W Bush can 'run' the USA (into the ground) then if anything she is over qualified for Thailand.

Geo. W. Bush was the first twice elected Governor of one of the largest and most successful of the 50 states. You should have used Mr. Obama whose only qualifications were: a) he was not Geo. Bush cool.png partial term State Senator c) partial term US Senator d) community organizer with NO executive experience.. Even Mr. Obama was infinitely more qualified at the beginning of his first term than out dear current PM.

Nobody gives a shit about US presidents here - stay in topic

Yingluck does. She can't wait to get over to the White House.

And she's as smart as Sarah Palin. thumbsup.gif

Which then begs the question, who is ever apparently ready in this country?

Abhisit on paper appeared to be academically ready, but in reality was an absolutely inept and naive politician. He might have gone to school and university with Cameron, Boris and Osborne but even he isn't smart enough to have workeed out that the Democrats are absolute dead ducks in the Thai systems.  Is Chuan suggesting that within the Dems there is a depth of political capability that goes well beyond that of PTP?  Suthep, Kasit?  Ohhh, puleeze.  Korn is a smart bloke who appears to be one that should not be trifled with in political discussion.  Where are the rest?

Until the system realises that politics needs a vast range of skills, other than just a nice degree and a big bank balance, it goes nowhere.  It would be nice if a decent percentage of the MP's sitting in the lower house were actually acting on some kind of heartfelf principle instead of them all just looking to feather their bank balance.

Yingluck is just one of the lower end of a very bad bunch, with Abhisit sitting somewhere just above average.  None of them are skilled principled politicians.  NONE. Abhisit couldn't negotiate his way to his own coalition, not in 1000 years.  He needed the army to give him just a tiny boost up in the right direction.

To be fair, I don't think Abhisit ever got a chance to prove himself as an administrator one way or another.

He was pushed to the front by political godfathers who hovered over his shoulder and reached out to move the pieces on the chess board from behind him constantly.

Bit like Yingluck you mean?

Which begs the question:

Go Where?

There is no un-corrupt Thailand political party in existence,

so he has no choice but to pick the largest, most organised #2.

At least it generally appears a bit less corrupt in an in your face way.

They actually do resign when caught, and don't brave face it out till convicted.

In Thailand politics you can't succeed without being in bed to some % with the corrupt,

but how it is dealt with, or accepted whole hog, does matter.
