Two killed, nine injured in fire, firework explosion in Pathum Thani

BANGKOK: -- Police said the accident happened at 11:30 am at the Udomsup shop in Thanyaburi district.

The blaze from the three-storey shop house spread to engulf five other shop houses.

Police said Paradee Phannusorn, 51, the wife of Udomsup shop owner Alongkorn Bussaratrakul, 46, was killed.

Police said Jiraporn Boonrod, 39, who was an employee of a nearby Apex Marketing firm, was also killed in the blaze.

Police said the fire started in the kitchen and might be started with a leak of cooking gas and the fire spread to the room where fireworks were kept for sale during the Loy Krathong festival, causing an explosion.

Shop houses are always a good place to store fire works!

Guy Fawkes on a 30 day visa. --Stored near to a gas cylinder ???? another tragic fatality

If the rockets need to be stored upright, then the obvious place to store them is squeezed between the heavy gas cylinders so they cannot fall over. Surely that is obvious to everyone except nit-picking farang...
