November 12, 201312 yr A few nights ago, I decided to watch the Louis Theroux Thai Bride documentary, I'd watched it years ago and had forgotten how cringeworthy it was. Watching the central characters, in particular Ronny Conrad and Lake Palmer, most people, would feel the need to take a shower after watching them. Pure sleaze. Now, it got me to thinking about what has become of these TV legends, and in particular what about the two dating agencies? I'm guessing some may have come across some of these characters in years gone by. One.friend said he'd met Ronny Conrad years back, and he described him as a tool.

That was funny, i just googled lake Palmer and there is a twitter account and facebook account with his musings on girls and dating..... In my google search he beat Emmerson lake and Palmer...haha... Those names were surely made up for the TV show?

November 13, 201312 yr Second thread on this imbecile in the space of a fortnight - he must have left a real impression on some of us .... I still have the ep where Louis wanders into Ronny's agency to find out why Thai women would want a Farang man (specifically a Farang man like Ronny or Lake ..) - cringeworthy, but one of the golddiggers girls signing on with ole Ronny gives the camera exactly what the folks back home wanted to hear : that the girls know there's gold in them thar hills. He really would have been at home in an episode of Fawlty Towers, but in BKK in the noughties he just looks tragic. Lake is even worse, but I'll leave it to others to dissect that man's complete lack of anything resembling a redeeming feature.
