Dubai sounds awful. Does anybody actually like it?

From what I have heard it sounds artificial, backward and completely detached from nature. I could go on but I won't because I haven't been, though I suppose I can judge anyway - why not? I trust the opinion of most of you.

Thailand may be a pain at times but at least it has some history, culture and greenery.
