glennsdaf
Hi Can any forum members help me with this one, my Thai wife is now settled in the UK and has now attained her ILR visa, I have adopted her 7 year old daughter and we want to bring her to the UK on a family visit. The UKBA web site has all the details for family visit visas but states quite clearly that applicants must be 18 or older. Has anyone any ideas what we can do next. ulike
How did you adopt the child? In Thailand or from the UK?
Tony M
Make the application as a 'Child Visitor " - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/visiting/child/ The fact that your daughter is adopted makes no difference to the category of application. It is a general( family) visit visa application. There are no longer any appeal rights for family visit visa refusals, should it be refused. abrahamzvi
Can adopted children not join their parents in the UK, even on a permanent basis??? This is simply inhuman!!!!
7by7
Adopted children can live in the UK with their adoptive parents. No doubt the OP has his reasons why his adopted child does not and is only coming for a visit.
