Volunteering options for a week in BKK

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I came to BKK for surgery... For one reason or another i will not have surgery.

I had 10 days of doing nothing post operation recovery planned before i went home.

Now i have 10 days of nothing planned.

I have been to BKK before and seen all the sites etc so was wondering if my time cud be spent better.

Is there anywhere i cud do some kind of volunteer work?

Any ideas wud be appreciated..

Thanks

Volunteering needs a work permit. Not worth the efforts for only a ten day period. Most visas or visa exempt entries indicate you're not permitted to work, and that includes volunteering.

Hop on a train or bus to Kanchanaburi and spend the time there.

Though the UK, OZ and NZ war cemeteries are meticulously maintained, there's always something nearby that could stand some sprucing up if you wanted to sneak in a little good works.

In Bangkok a worthy cuase:

Human Development Foundation

100 / 11 Kae-ha Klong Toey 4, Klong Toey

Bangkok 10110, Thailand

They may have something you can help witau

I volunteered at EMPOWER for a month when I first got here. Great, fun people that will show you around. You will not need a work permit, and they will take care of you.

Good choice on not getting the surgery here I think.
