I am 66 and wish to reside in Jomtien, Thailand for the foreseeable future. I have a multi entry No O Visa which expires end of March 2014.

Having read a number of posts I believe my best option is to extend my current visa, within 30 days of the last entry by date,. I can meet the money in bank requirement and would obtain the necessary letter two days before going to immigration. I presume there will be a form/ application to complete so would appreciate info on number of form and any other paperwork I will need e.g. Passport photos etc. Is there anything else I need to know?

I would also appreciate comment/ advice on what if any benefits there would be in applying in the U K for an O- A visa. I will be visiting UK this December for a month so could apply then if this is my best option.

You must extend within the last 30 days of your permission to stay. If your visa itself is valid till end of March 2014, leave and re-enter before that date and get a new 90 days and extend during the last 30 days of that one.

Jomtiem will also require proof of address, preferably a rental contract I believe they require.

The O-A visa is handy if you want to avoid sending money to Thailand to get an extension of stay based on money in the bank. With a multiple O-A you would not need to have the money in the bank for almost 2 years.

If you already have the money or apply for an extension based on income, it is less attteactive.

Money already in bank here and I will be going to Vietnam in Feb so that would get me another 90 days then I apply within last 30 days. Do you happen to know number of application form so I can download from forum website?
