Maybe a play on words and pronounciation "you try now" ?

Maybe there is no joke. Owned by Mr Thai more here

It's a commentary on the trend for U.S. Thai restaurants to use too clever punny names on the word THAI ... thumbsup.gif

It's not actually a joke per se ...

Is this simply a reference to what was a trend (not so common anymore) for a while a number of years ago, to name your junkfood restaurant with "You something this" or "Yo something that"..?

Yo Sushi

You Me Sushi

Yo China

Etc. etc.

In Oxford Street , Sydney, there is actually a restaurant called " THAI ME UP" !

That's actually one of the most popular pun names of Thai restaurants.

it seems, in USA its a classical prank to make funny call to thai restaurant, one of the most famous is "You thai, I thai too"

Bart looks depressed, and I guess he is wandering through the city and only sees depressing signs... "you die now"...

It's not a joke. "You Thai Now" is a restaurant owned by Mr. Thai. Maybe a play on words (You "try" now)

When Bart was looking for a job, Mr. Thai hired him to distribute leaflets with menus all over the town. This advertisement then will help him to have enough money to send his daughters to small liberal arts colleges. Bart didn't have much luck at first, but after training from Mr. Thai he became an expert at menu distribution.
