Waterford Diamond Tower - good place to rent, live in?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've looked at some units for rent at Waterford Diamond Tower on Sukhumvit soi 30/1. I like that the units are large for the price (especially the 2 bedroom units) and the pools and fitness facilities are big and well-stocked. But the building is fairly old (1999 I believe) and seems a bit shabby. I'm a bit confused in that it is advertised on many sites (like Agoda) as a hotel/serviced apartment, but I'm told that is an adjacent tower having the same name. Anyway, I'm hoping for insights from anyone who's lived in this development - especially things like maintenance, any problems with water/elevators, noise, etc. Basically, would it be a good idea to move in there. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Cheers,

TG

A clarification: I found out yesterday that the reason this building is advertised as a hotel is that a management company owns about 180 of the units, 170 of which it rents on a long term basis and 10 of which it rents on a short term basis. The latter 10 units are listed on Agoda and other sites as if they are hotel/serviced apartment rooms. Personally I'm looking to rent long term (i.e. 1-2 years).

a friend of mine rented a unit for 5/6 years and was pretty happy there, he continued to stay there even after he joined a company which gave him an accomodation budget that would have allowed for something much more expensive. He had quite a nice unit with balcony and good views which had been renovated (incl new kitchen and bathrooms) just before he moved in. I think what he liked was the location, close to emporium and thong lor and he really rated the facilities particularly the gym. He only moved out because he got transferred out of country otherwise i think he would still be there.

Hey thanks for the info. Did he ever complain about noise from the BTS? The building is pretty close and I heard someone mention that noise.
