OK, I can't let the above post go- it's too good.;)

You're the jumpy one who keeps harping on the same point- I answered your question in post #29, post #43, and post #45- how does someone who claims to be riding for 40 years on powerful bikes not understand why someone would do simple bolt-ons to reduce weight and increase power? How many times can you ask the same thing before someone is allowed to tell you to piss off? Five? Ten? With me it's three. You're an incredibly dense, frustrating poster. You don't 'discuss' thing- you ask a series of similar questions without comprehending the answers and you think that costs as intelligent discourse- it doesn't.

There's no way an 'experienced professional' would need to ask that question, let-alone fail to grasp the answers- I don't believe what you posted above at all- there's nothing you've EVER posted that made me think you were a competent, knowledgeable rider- really, nothing at all. You may have been riding a long time, but you're about as much of a professional as the average old lady who's been driving 50 years- it takes more than longevity to merit that label.

Saw this bike in Kawasaki today, wow what a fantastic looking bike, I can now understand why people want to change the stock exhausts as they really do spoil the bike, if I had that sort of money, they said it was 890k I would buy it!! It's awesome!!

Different strokes for different folks, so when in doubt, go for the best!

Rubbersidedown, btw your information on the ZX14r is very informative, keep it coming, Cheers!

That truck could be helpful in clearing tailgaters on the roads in Thailand :D

Looks good- at least the blacked-out cans look better than the ones on previous models.

You're most likely going to have to bite the bullet and deal with importing an exhaust if you want a full system- slip-ons are available- I know that Real Motosports had either the Yosh or Akra on their FB page recently.

I'd recommend importing an exhaust as the prices here are extortionate. I've seen 17k฿ slip-ons going for 45k at Red Baron.

The are many sites to buy from online. Sportbiketrackgear and Solomoto are two of my favorites.

BTW, RubberSideDown. I know exactly how you feel about our 'friend'. I'm just coming off a 7-day holiday because I flamed him.

Hmmm - I see a trend towards naming a certain 'mans best friend' growing on this forum. Two different threads, same animal causing problems.

If I was a superstitious sort ...

There will always be some windup merchant with their own agenda on this forum. Perhaps the trolls should get banned more from aggravating the regulars.

Hi Ninja4me, I currently have a 2013 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic. I considered both the Ninja 1000 and the ZX-14R, I coudn't resist the 14 smile.png I'm 63 now and from England. I hope I'm old enough and wise enough to treat this beast with respect. I've fitted Helibar risers already and have ordered some Genmar risers from Ebay in the UK. I'll pick them up in June when I go back for a couple of weeks. The plan is to double stack Heli + Genmar, according to some posts on the ZX-14 Forum this can be done with no new cables necessary. I've only done around 100 kilos so far to Nong Khai and back. I'm itching to get out again but the water throwing just now is putting me off. Does anyone know where I can get the longer set screws required for a double stack set up?

Are you sure you won't need longer lines for the double-stack with the ABS? You can get the non-ABS version in some countries, so when it comes to anything involving your brakes (risers, rearsets, etc) there can be some different equipment necessary if the poster who supplied the info has a different version than you. There might not be an issue, of course, but it's worth confirming.

Thanks for heads up Rubber. I'm not sure whether this guy had ABS or not (He was from Australia) Anyway, I will try the double stack if it doesn't work I may switch the Helibar with the Genmar. If that doesn't work I will stick with the Helibar. Of course the riding position is new and is OK for short rides of say 50 + 50 kms. I'm thinking in terms of longer touring rides. I've seen pictures of the LS bar set up, however, the bike doesn't look as good but that's only my view.

You can definitely make it work with the double-stack even with ABS- it's just that you might (or might not) have to swap your lines (I changed my brake pads and lines before taking delivery of my bike, so it's not a big deal;)).

It's just that I remember reading something on one of the 14R forums regarding stacked risers and ABS lines, but I don't recall exactly what it was (it's not a mod I'm planning on doing, so it didn't stick in my mind)- I'm just tossing it out there.

My new ZX-14R. I live in Udon Thani

attachicon.gif20140402_113109 7.jpg

Nice! But why is it on every single big bike from the last few years, the exhaust cans are so fugly.

Suzuki GSX-R1000 L3 182 hp in-line 4 Superbike

I think you either like them or you don't (most people don't) I will probably change them going forward, however, the Police are very Hot in Udon. I bought my step son a Ninja 250 last year and changed the stock can with a Two Brothers Black Can. It looks and sounds good. He has a lot of mates who have bigger bikes like ZX-10's R1's etc. A lot of them have been pulled by the Police and had to pay fines (2,000 Baht in some instances) because of "loud" exhausts. My step son hasn't been pulled yet but I've told him to carry a copy of the Two Brothers exhaust receipt issued by Kawasaki Big Bikes Udon to show the Police if stopped. The Zx-14 is new to me but I think the exhaust note with the stock cans is too quiet. I think it is good to be seen (proper clothing) and heard (exhaust) when your on a bike. If I do change the cans I don't want to be pulled by the Police every time I'm out and having to pay fines sad.png I would appreciate some comments on this topic from the experienced guys on this forum wink.png I often wonder how these guys with Harley's get away with it whistling.gif

If you want to go the full-exhaust route (as opposed to slip-ons) I think the two best choices are Brock's and Akra (if you want to go single-sided as I did then it's only Brock's). I didn't want to deal with dB-reducing (and power-robbing) baffles, so I went with the QuietKore can, which doesn't get 'loud' until around 6K. It conforms to SAE J2825 sound-specs for the US market, and would pass a dB test in LOS as well (though if the cops want to screw with you there's not much you can do). Note you'd also need a Power Commander to add some fuel so you don't run lean with any full system.

If you want to go the easier route and go with slip-ons, there are a lot of good options and no remapping is required.
