draftvader
Elna is an amazing brand. There is a great shop in CentralWorld on the 3rd floor near Isetan.

eyecatcher
Got my mrs one last year. Elvira, top brand here, up huay kaew rd in front of the Dome hotel and opp the school. I got her a very good beginners model around 7/8k I think. She thinks its brilliant. The bonus with Elvira is they are always there to teach you what to do. The other one is at the Pinn shop west side of most near the park. These are euro imported machine, excellent make (that I have forgotten) but all the equivalent models about 2k more expensive. But the best thing.....because I bought the machine, I now get Elvira monthly knitting and sewing brochure so I am always one step ahead of the wife on current sewing trends.! Sent via tin can and string after pigeon shot

ChiangMai101
Bought a Brother machine at the Pinn shop about 6 months ago. It's a great machine. In my opinion very comparable to Elvira. Elna, Janome and Bernina are very good machines but not good value for money in Thailand. They are very overpriced here.
