I forgot to tip a margin for the Hawks v Carlton game facepalm.gif

I saw that your margin was 28, I wondered what happened. Ron19 was 1 off the margin. Well done.

Does it automatically use a default number?

I forgot once and it used the number I used the week before.

I picked a margin of 21 and was hoping like heck that Roughie

kicked his last shot out on the full. Not to be though.

Nice work Ron19.

If you do not pick a margin then you get 0 as your margin.

Can't believe the players have been handed a show cause notice. How could they be expected to know that their coaches and specialist staff are giving them dodgy stuff to take? Must be a human rights issue in there somewhere.

This is a cloud that will hang over the whole Essendon club - players, coaches, administrators - for years. It's not like singling out an individual like Marion Jones and throwing the book at her. The implications for the players' careers and the viability of the club are much wider.

I'm angry, but I guess that's just being unrealistic.

The whole court thing will drag on for years and during that time the club will be seriously reviewing their list. A number of the players given the notice will be delisted and the Bombers will be recruiting heavily. That way they may still be able to field a side if the ruling goes against them. No other club is going to touch an Esssendon player if they are delisted because they will never know if they are going to be available.

AFL's top 10 overpaid players: Garry Lyon

http://www.watoday.com.au/afl/afl-news/afls-top-10-overpaid-players-20140613-zs714.html

BookMan, your boy Butterfingers get's a gig at number 8.

Personally, I think Rhys Palmer who went to GWS for $500 000 is the most overpaid and he

must've flown under the radar.

Interesting reading. GWS certainly paid over the odds for a number of players.

Butterfingers must be laughing at 500k a season. As soon as Sydney dumps him he will undoubtedly start performing for his new club

Doesn't that open up a minefield as far as the players are concerned with the club being number one on the list for apportioning fault to and then discarding players to save their own ass.

Fa-rk me. Sydney kicked 2.8 that quarter....could have put the game away.

I took GS's suggestion and went to the club. Couldn't find a stream online.

Hope you also took my suggestion and backed the boys!

What a <deleted> thumping game! Love him or loathe him, Buddy Billions brought home the bacon today...

Hanners's probably gone for a few weeks with an injury to the ankle or knee...

And so Ports annual slide begins :P

They can't delist them, that will only serve said players to sue the club. Essendon would have no basis to delist them...

If it drags on, they'll still be able to continue to play footy, similar to an alleged criminal being allowed out on bail, if the Court rules that it is permissible.

I backed Sydney in that game.

Port almost stole it at the death. Sydney's midfield was a bit strangled at times.

Yes, BigBuddy brought home the bacon!

Ok boys, I didn't see the game but it sounds as if Port lost no friends

going down to Sydney in Sydney by under a goal.

What's the general impression of Port now? Are they genuine contenders?

Assuming they don't slide out of the top 2, getting two home finals might make

them real hard to beat.

What does everyone think?

Port will be very difficult to beat at home in the finals. They were fairly much at full strength for this game and their players don't give up. They are super fit and they keep backing themselves, especially through the middle and markign in the 50 metre arc. Wingard is their magician. he was kept quiet in the first quarter, but after that he escaped his tage a few times and every time he was influential, leading to goals , or almost goals. With 1.30 to go they were 2 goals behind and almost won the game. Butterfingers punched the ball through for a behind with ten seconds to go.

Sydney wasted the first quarter. 2.8 and that almost cost them the game. The Sydney boys defence and Buddy got them through...by a hair width. Kennedy and Hannebery both kept quiet. Sure, Sydney were missing Tippet, Mcglynna nd Pyke, all goal kicking options, but still.....

I'd say worryingly for all teams, both Port and Sydney will play better than that.

Also, Port was playing that game in Sydney. At home in Adelaide the crowd might have pulled them across the line.

I have to admitt the MBB had a great game. His first half still showed the old Buddy. Blasting away when someone was in the goal area. I listened to the ABC call and that was their comment.I think the coach had a good talk at halftime. I am glad he could kick 5 goals in the 2nd half after 4 behinds in the first. Another comment made was that he was deep in defense when needed. He may be learning what it means to be a Swan team player
