So this thought just crossed my mind - which to be fair is a big thing given my delicate state today - Malceski for Frawley. Jus' sayin' wink.png

I had heard a rumour about Frawley going to Sydney.

He must be keen for a pay cut

I'd rather have 2 great years from Malceski than 5 mediocre ones from Frawley.

I'd like to see Malceski stay...but it will come down to $$, and I dont think the Swans have the spare cash

Straight to the tribunal for Vickery..

Surprised (well not really) that Cox's initial hit on Vickery was thrown out.

I wonder what he will end up with?

I'd like to see a minimum of 5 but would happily see more.

This is the same guy who mimicked Michael Barlow a year

or so ago about his broken leg/limp.

To be fair about the Cox elbow, that happens with the ruckmen jostling and elbowing

a dozen times a game. And the MRP used that old chestnut "below that required to

constitute a reportable offence".

Here is what Grant Thomas has to say about it: Grant Thomas @Thomo_Grant · Jul 25

Finally AFL MRP/Tribunal have a case they can throw the book at.

The only mistake they can make is not enough. I wouldn't blink at 12 weeksw00t.gif

Posted

Grant Thomas should shut the front door. 12 weeks? Give me a break. Anything more than 6 and the case will be overturned on appeal. The thing that will save Vickery (IMO) is that at no point did he make eye contact with Cox and only had eyes for the ball.

Cox's hit to Vickery was pretty forceful, got him higher than usual (but I guess with Cox being 200ft tall anything's going to be high on a normal sized player :P) but like I said, not surprised by their decision. rolleyes.gif

WCE are $4.20 to beat Adelaide at the moment. Seems rather generous.

I have made my tips for the week and I ain't changing them!

Don't forget lads, the week kicks off Thursday night this week!

Made mine as well and I ain't changing either.

Maybe I can start off with a Thursday win instead

of a Friday loss.

I can't see Carlton troubling Freo at home.

I must have tipped some longshots. The multibet selection stands to pay me $352 w00t.gif

I think it was a week skinny and he should've been rubbed out

for the rest of the year.

To knock a bloke clean out and get 4 weeks when guys like Fyfe

are getting 2 for a bump and accidental head clash doesn't add

up to me.

Like we've all said before, it's inconsistent and unpredictable.

As the Buddha would say (on hearing about the MRP):

They are neither predictable at being unpredictable, nor unpredictable at being predictable or they are both predictable at being unpredictable and unpredictable at being predictable, or possibly all of these things.

Is that clearer now? smile.png

AFL moves to win back fans

The AFL has established a blueprint to win back Victorian fans, admitting that the MCG and Etihad Stadium no longer set the benchmark as match-day venues and that the game's heartland has suffered due to a highly experimental 2014 fixture and a messy ticketing system.

Less than two months into his term as the game's new boss, Gillon McLachlan has conceded the AFL has made it too difficult for fans to get to games, has not worked in true partnership with the MCG and Etihad Stadium and the recently relaunched stadiums in Adelaide and the Gold Coast were leading the way in providing for football supporters. McLachlan has called on all 10 Victorian clubs and Melbourne's two AFL venues to help develop a united push to lift Melbourne attendances.

Victorian crowds have fallen by almost 4000 a game on last season to a game average of 37,250, while attendances have risen marginally across Australia.

Eddie must be happy, Collingwood gets a home game at the MCG against a G/F favourite (blockbuster) won't be able to moan about lost revenue.

Yeah never tire of hearing Garry Lyon referring to the Adelaide Oval as the home of AFL, it's truly a world class venue now, the issue will be South Australians fueling their inflated egos with it. They know how to hold a grudge over there and still begrudge Melbourne for stealing the F1.

Sydney should have the Friday night game as they're currently in pole position. <deleted> McGuire and his highschool girl tactics.

Co-leader!

Come on now BookMan. It's all about percentage and margins my friend.

Would you say Sydney are on top of the ladder or equal top with Hawthorn and Geelong?

If the season stopped now, I would be getting a home final in Perth.

Now let me have my time in the sun mate.

At least until Fridaybiggrin.png

I see Ryan O'Keefe is looking for a new club next year.

Do you think there will be any interest like Essendon did

with Chappy?

Having said that, I wonder if Bomber Thompson hadn't been

at Ess if they would've picked him up.

I still think ROK was dropped for political reasons. He was not Buddy happy.

His performances in the reserves warranted a recall to the firsts and I find it difficult to believe the excuses about his speed having deteriorated so dramatically.

He would have something to offer another club, but it all depends on his price.

The case of Frawley is more interesting. The Swans might be willing to let Malceski wallk and take on Frawley, as both seem to be asking about the same money. at 26 compared to Malceski's 30, that would be of benefit.

As we all know, if you want a premiership in the next 5 years then Sydney is the place to be tongue.png
