Probably vehicle is coming with clients from somewhere further south (eg Samui via Surat) - can't imagine this is a Chumpon specific run.

Ahhh gotcha. It must therefore be relatively simple to do on your own and I would much rather leave in the AM then in the afternoon.

I used to go from Chiang Mai to Myanmar all the time. Very straight forward.
