mae sai border giving 30 days.

Featured Replies

My mate went to Mar Sai yesterday. He only needs a few days visa before he leaves at the weekend.

Asked him today how many days he gets 14 or 15 as I am never sure.

he didn't know and passed me his passport.

Admitted until 7th Jan 2014.

We couldn't think of a scenario when 30 days is given at a land border.

So was it a mistake....they usually have stamps already set at 15/60/90 days don't they.

Or have they decided to give everyone a christmas present after all 15 days would mean folks need to exit on christmas day.

Citizens of G7 Countries get 30 days at land borders.

The United States, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, Germany, France and Italy.

They changed the rule to 30 days by air and land arrival.

When did that happen?

Yes please do tell.

Good news for us then....finally.

I feel priveledged!

Where's the catch.

Should ease congestion in vientiane, no need to go then.

A friend of mine who is of German nationality got a 3 month stamp recently, he checked when he got back at an immigration agency and no mistake.

I know the Immi ppl just wanted him to be happy after 5 or 6 years of annoying them every month and more recently 2 weeks walk over stays.

They have just opened the Flood gates...more to come!

My German friend received a 90 day entry stamp from Mai Sai on his passport and wondered if they had made a mistake but it happened.

Unfortunately they were in a party mood that afternoon so he had to donate a 1 Ltr of J.W to the cause. I should know as i had paid for it!

True, as of November 1st. Still 500 baht or 10 USD. Just did it 2 weeks ago for the first time after finishing a work permit / Non-Imm B visa. Curious how many times consecutively they'll allow me.

They a have been limiting 15 day entries at Mae Sai to 4 so I would expect it to be the same for 30 day entries.
