Extending NON O-A for a few days only

Featured Replies

Looking for some advice please. I have a Non Immigrant O-A visa and it expires of 24 December 2013. I decided not to renew it as I expect to be moving from Thailand in February or March 2014.

I would like to know if I can extend this visa by a few days. Friends from overseas will be visiting until 25 December and I would like to spend the day with them and leave on 26th or 27th December. My re-entry would be on a “visa upon arrival” (whatever it is called?) in early January 2014. .

I know that one of my options would be to overstay by a few days and pay a small fine, but, perhaps it would be best not to do that if there is another way. Thank you.

Your visa expiration date does not matter. What is your permit to stay date.

Not sure if this answers your question but my Re-Entry Permit is valid until 24 December 2014.

Sorry, I meant that it is valid until 24 December 2013 -- NOT 2014.

That would be the same as your permit to stay date.

You can apply for a 7 day extension and pay 1900 baht for it and they will give you 7 days to leave.

Do you happen to know what form I would have to complete in support of the application and what other documents would be required (other than my passport? Thank you for your earlier reply. It is very helpful.

A completed TM7 form with photo attached . Copies of passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card.
