I say Mr Warrior, would it be at all possible to obtain a translation of your posts somewhere? Some seem jolly interesting but I'm afraid I can only understand a few words of them. At first glance they seem to have been run through some sort of ''jokey'' Ebonics translator (really quite offensive things).

then, I believe that you will find that what ah's sayin' is fully understandable...

Is that taht mahn goong (fried shrimp paddies) in the middle (round paddies)? I really love them but seems few places know how to make them right. :o

Looks very nice, perhaps one of the top Chao Phraya riverside hotel restaurants?

Yes...in the newest hotel on the river: the Hilton.

Nice. I hear they have a beach set up on the roof, too, what's that like?

I have not been to the roof yet....there is also a 360 degree cocktail lounge which has a spectacular view.

Yes, I got the West coast flavour (one of the things that endears me so much to my father-in-law was hearing that he smacked my brother-in-law the day he came home from junior high and said ''axe'' instead of ''ask'', but then that was in a civilised part of the country, Boston).

I could write all sarf, innit, but where would that get us geezer?

And some nice looking intestines in the background there also...

There is a little food cart on Silom that sell crispy bugs. I must photograph it.

My nosey telephoto lens says it looks more like a garden. But the 360 degree bar looks cool.

And, this is definitely not soi food. Guess the restaurant.

Although I have occasionally been labeled as elitist or similar, I absolutely refuse to accept the idea that I should permit someone to arrange my food in his interpretation of “Art” and – worse – allow myself to be charged a premium for this impertinence.

As a child I was always admonished not to play with my food – why the blazes should I pay someone else to do so?

My favourite restaurants are those which present food without pretension.

I don’t need my food to be meticulously ordered on a plate (probably costing US 20.- or more each), with a few carefully curlicued Chives “artfully” arranged between globules of some unidentifiable sauce conjured up in the mind of a self important “Chef”. Much less do I need some carved and dyed tapioca “flowers” or – heaven forbid – a “Chinese Dragon” hewn from that dreadful import the carrot..

I am not a particular fan of Food Carts, with a few notable exceptions mainly in Yaowarat, but I avoid at all costs places which put emphasis on presentation rather than on the quality and freshness of the ingredients.
