Saladin Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 (edited) I will be moving to Koh Samui in February and would like to open a small business. I don't know the island well, having only been there once, so will spend a couple of months learning the lie of the land.My business in Sydney imports furniture and associated items from China for the hospitality industry and what I have seen in Thailand is rather restricted in style so I believe there is the possibility of selling selected lines in Samui from some of my Chinese suppliers. My questions are:(1) Where would be the best location for a retail showroom (say 200M2)to reach the affluent expats, developers, resorts etc?(2) What are the best venues to meet interesting expats (not barflies) - Rotary Club? Yacht club? etc etc Edited December 12, 2013 by Rooo Format
Mole Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I know for a fact that on this island there's lots of (if not majority) of expat barflies who happen to be quite interesting and very well off. I'm a native Thai, so I'm certainly not one though.
Samui Coconut Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 (edited) Jazz Café, Retail Show room.....what's next? Chinese Massage Parlour, Dim Sum Drive-through.....? Just come down and check it out yourself, that's what most of us did as well. And who says affluent expats and developers are that keen on "Made in China" products? P.S. There is no Yacht Club and Rotary has less than double digits members. Good luck. Edited December 12, 2013 by Samui Coconut
Rooo Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 You already have another topic running on basically the same questions on this forum.
