Chalerm's head still on his shoulders

Featured Replies

It has been a funny year in Thailand; politics are hopeless as usual, but there have been bright spots and dark spots.

Chalerm Yoobumrung had a brain aneurism. It was significant in a number of ways. It finally proved (conclusively?) that he had a brain, but the incident might have been overplayed by his spin-doctors. The outpouring of grief over his illness was astounding. He survived, and the joy among the populace was palpable.

He also declared that if he does not succeed in bringing Thaksin back by the new year, his supporters may behead him.

The bad news is that there are 17 more days to go, but the chances are that Thaksin will be celebrating his new year in the sandpit.

Oh well.....

I thought he was going to be protesting outside the police headquarters today if Suthep wasn't arrested.
