Double entry visa - 8 months passport

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

After a couple of years on student visa i have get a double entry visa.

My passport expires in august 2014 and i have to leave the country before 20 January 2014.

This means i have 8 months left on my passport. Is this enough to get a double entry visa?

I will get a new passport also but that takes 4 weeks, so will probably get it after 20 January.

If this is all possible, is it also easy to put the visa in the new passport? Or can the thai immigration be difficult?

Thanks in advance!

With 8 months left you have nothing to worry about getting a double entry tourist visa.

When you have your new passport, you do nothing but keep both old and new passport. When leaving you show both passports and do the same when you enter Thailand again. (The old one to show the visa and the new paspsort to get your new permission to stay in).

After the visa is used, you can only us the new passport.

Great!

Thanks for the quick answer!

Now I can look for nice city deals to combine my trip :)

But you will need to get your new passport before you make a border run for your 2nd entry. All neighboring countries require 6 month passport validity for entry.
