BANGKOK: -- This afternoon authorities took Nui, the child murder suspect who confessed to killing and raping a 6-year-old girl named Cartoon earlier this month to kneel before the girl’s parents for an apology ceremony (kor kama) in front of the press at noon.

Sayan Petchdon, the father of the victim revealed he would not forgive Nui until the man dies just like his daughter.

After the ceremony, Nui was taken to Don Muang police to re-enact the rape of another victim two days before Cartoon’s death.

Nui has confessed that he raped a girl on Dec. 4 in Don Muang district where the luk thung band he worked for hosted a concert.

Actually as you are trying to be a smart ass knowledgable Buddhist then it is you that is wrong to suggest the Father is wrong as surely rights and wrongs don't come in to it. However, do you really t

Why would the parents even go?

Is this a Buddhist thing?

They'd have had to pull me off the man that killed my child.

This seems like a breach of legal protocol to me, and benefits no one. Sad hokus pokus, for what.

If i was the father of the victim, i would wear Steel Toed boots at the ceremony and kick him so <deleted>..ing hard in the face.

I hope they rape him every morning in jail.

it's cliched, but he's as good as dead.

I have seen 4 or 5 nicer and smarter monkeys only last 14 days than this idiot who knees in bracelet ...

They lynching attempts usually happen when they do the re-enactment.

Why don't you all pop along and go for it...?

He should be in jail....& mandatory gang rape 3 times a day.

Personally I hope that hey don't hang him, that would be an easy way out for him. Better is to give him a live sentence in prison where he would be remembered about the most horrible thing a man can do, rape an child and then murder the poor kid to get rid of the evidence. But normally people who have done something like this are not the most popular guys in prison and other people who are in there will let him him suffer for what he has done, he won't get any respect from what he has done from other criminals.

I would have gone if I was the girls parent...just enough time to get close enough to him.

How the father could have sat there and done nothing is beyond me...but then again...there is the other thread about him.

The problem with jail is that rapes don't happen like they do back home and other prisinors don't give a dam_n about what he is in for. It's not like the USA etc. Prison is much to leniant for this disgusting PIG !!

<deleted>. This isn't justice, it's a circus. Lock him up, leave him to rot in some crap hole, but stop parading him around like some prize exhibit. We don't need to see him or listen to his pathetic excuses and BS claims of remorse. Nothing he says or does will lessen the horrific nature of his crime.

And he was given flowers to pose for this picture. He should be given the lethal injection as soon as possible.

All the typical reactions by WASP readers who do not understand the Buddhism here. Hate, revenge, desire for violence, wishing ill-will upon someone.

The man has committed a crime and cannot escape the karma which will bring him much suffering, in this life and the next.... satisfied?

By hating and wishing for him to suffer...you only create bad karma for yourself....a bad kind of mindset to have.

The father of the child is also wrong to have no forgiveness in his heart.

^^ Do you have an objective definition of "wrong"?

Do you have a proof that negative thoughts bring "bad karma" (let's say "bad consequences")?

Each person lives within his own paradigm. There aren't any objective criteria to decide what one should have done, there is only what you personally think would have had the most positive consequences.

This is a serious question, but if this guy came from means, could he just offer money to the family and if they forgave him, could he walk?

Never been able grasp this. How can apologising and presenting a bunch of flowers to the parents be considered in any way a valid and meaningful gesture? And why do the families of the deceased play along with the sham? Yet you see this time and time again. It seems to spring from the same primitive mentality that holds that crime re-enactments can be of some sort of value.

Actually as you are trying to be a smart ass knowledgable Buddhist then it is you that is wrong to suggest the Father is wrong as surely rights and wrongs don't come in to it. However, do you really think for one nano second that the message of Buddha was to simply show forgiveness when someone has just strangled your 6 year old daughter and then raped her lifeless body and dumped her by the side of a wall. Buddha still advocated law and order you know and for you to suggest the Father is wrong to not forgive puts you in the top ten of my raving loonies list. I think the Father displayed super human restraint under the circumstances. I would have taken the flowers, wrapped them around a red hot poker and stuffed it up his.............. where the sun doesn't shine. Is that forgiveness enough?

What this guy needs (or needed) is what he should have received in the first place, and that is help for his clearly severe mental health problems, something the Thai authorities bury their heads in the sand about as it implies that Thai society may not be as pure as they love to portray.

Had he have received or had attention paid to his psychopathy then he'd probably not have been free to have committed this outrage in the first place.

It is time Thailand started to recognise mental health issues as a factor in crime and anti social behaviour.

Dear me, please tell us you've been drinking! You make it sound as though someone trod on someone's cat. Would you have this wonderful philosophy if it were your kin? closedeyes.gif

as a farther of 4 girls i would want total revenge of most vile kind and suffer any Karma. This guy and people like him are sub human and not worry of any more thought than you'd give to killing a rabid dog. The difference however is a rabid dog is not human so no difference.

He should be made to suffer 1`00 times worse than the suffering he has caused to an innocent small child.

And anyone who suggest otherwise I would also mark as almost as bad as him and also should be put down

I ami am not a believer in any sort of religion, but I recognise that there is evil in the world and this scumbag represents it all. He brings nothing but pain and suffering to others and to feel anger towards his repugnant crimes is a natural reaction. I don't support the death penalty or vigilante type justice, but I do know that this man is a danger to children in this world. He should be gaoled and punished for his evil. He shouldn't be raped or tortured or made to live a life of pain for his crimes as some have suggested, to do that demeans us all, but he does not deserve forgiveness; psychological treatment maybe, but forgiveness, never. That is a gift that no one is obligated to bestow upon those such as this monster.

Namby pamby BS. Guy should be dealt with in a very painful and harsh way.

I know if it was my kid, the guy probably wouldn't survive a crap 'ask for forgiveness' ceremony like this.

Deleted. right wing vigilante macho BS ain't worth the effort of debate.

If Thai Buddhisim teaches calmness, forgiveness etc. why do so many people carry guns and don't hesitate to use them ?
