sunshine51
Sunshine, it's a Pinzgauer ..belonging to the Royal Thai Army ;.I shot it in Sakon Nakhon a few years ago . That's why I dropped the name! Back in 1990 on a break from covering events in Kampooch and the Middle East, I attended the last IBC (International Broadcasting Convention) held in Brighton in the UK. I met the UK dealer of Pinzgauer and we had a chat...a long chat. I received a nice quotation, began to arrange the transfer of $$$$...BTW not as expensive as I initially thought...then I was called back to Southeast Asia so everything was put on hold. Then Gulf War 1 started so the hold continued and eventually it was forgotten. My plan was to purchase the "P" in the UK, have some custom work done on it & get the VAT back when I got to France & then drive the thing to Hong Kong where I was living at the time. And shoot/produce a corporate video for Pinzgauer of the journey...hence a decent price on the truck. Wars tend to get in the way & mess up really good ideas. Mind you...I'd still love a 6 wheeler P now. Great vehicles...seriously great vehicles.
