Climate Protesters Target van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ in New Act of Vandalism
Just terrorists in the name of the Environmentalists. These idiots often believe they are Above The Law just/having a legal immunity just because they got a Cause to attain. Dogmatic arrogant selfishness:That's what they are made of. A piece of art from the previous centuries has nothing to be blamed for today's environmental issues. -

How many here on the Farang Pub hope to die in Thailand?
I don't give a <deleted> where I will die and what they will do with my dead body. What I care about is where I want to live my last years and where I would get the best care. And that place is not Thailand. The countries of the European provides me with FREE HEALTHCARE when I get at an age that I would be dependent on others in daily life (also free services like free meals at home, free home care, free cleaning services, etc.) Thailand "was" a nice country to live in 20 years ago, but I don't want to reach an age where I would be dependent on others in this country. -

Is street food good for you? Old rancid oil. Cheap oil. Food dripping with oil.
What is ridiculous is that you think rancid oil can be transformed into good oil by topping up. It's not a mobile, it's a wok. -

I Voted Today
You do realize, all you did was repeat what I stated, though don't know why. I'm just saying, many people surely are thinking ... "Why'd I bother", as 4 presidents, since 2000, and 2 didn't get the popular vote. If I voted for gore or clinton, I don't think I'd ever vote again. That's pretty simple to understand, and nothing taken out of context. Have a Nice Day -

First UK Lawmaker Resigns from Labour Party, Accuses PM of Hypocrisy
I haven't seen much backbone on display, from the likes of David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak. Did I miss something? -

The Republican Freak Show
If Trump loses this year, there's no way the GOP will nominate him again in 2028. He'll be too old anyhow. Heck, he's too old now. -

Street food is not only not good for you, it could also potentially kill you. Serious diarrhea can be life threatening if not treated early. I have witnessed so many people that have had their stomach pumped and hospitalized from street food. It is not worth it to eat this cheap, oil saturated, filthy slop prepared in the filthy streets of Thailand. https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/diarrhoeal-disease -

Billie Eilish and Finneas Endorse Kamala Harris for President
Real men aren't scared to vote for a woman. A woman who's pretty normal, who when she needs to be briefed on something doesn't need it written in crayons, who will be willing to admit her instincts are not all that - she's not the font of all knowledge - and get help from those who know best. Trump will watch Fox News or play golf half the day and look for ways to hurt his opponents and keep himself in the spotlight and will make sure everyone around him is a toadie who bows to his instincts and superior intellect. I think you'll agree Billie is intelligent and thoughtful and can see what's what beyond women's issues. -

That's inherently nonsense. If the food is dripping with oil the oil will need to be topped up with fresh oil, so no "old rancid oil" - unless you think the vendors have a special supply of rancid oil with which to top up. -

I Voted Today
Looks like my voter registration has been purged. I have been waiting for my mail ballot. Checked the online site today. Not eligible, no idea why iO will call the registration office but not sure there is time to get this illegal suppression of a likely Harris voter amended. M The right -wingers who control the state process do not like my name, they don’t like my foreign birth and probably not my voting history -

And when Harris wins I can guarantee you I won't think of you. I will think of much more pleasant stuff. -

After 24 years of living in Asia, I tend to worry more about ultra processed food and the stuff they put in it back home to keep it from going off for extended periods and from causing rumble tummy. I think we need to occasionally exercise our natural immunity to bugs and adversity, or our systems become too weak. And all the emulsifiers, additives, and preservatives "back home" cannot be good for living organisms like our guts. This past year, between 3/4 of my time in China and 1/4 in Thailand (where I love street food), I have had the rumble tummy once. Worst symptom was "fecal urgency". Hell, I got that from eating Olestra potato chips back in the day... I suspect that if my family came to visit from back home, they'd be in the can for days before they acclimatized. Their systems are weak. Edit: That said, I pop a couple of albendazole every 6 months or so to kill whatever parasites I may be harboring. Liver flukes and liver cancer scare me... The rumble tummy seems more cathartic, flushing the system. I always feel better (and lighter) afterwards. -

Hurricane Helene
In his case, individually, I think he's okay. He's helping out elderly relatives and friends who lived in nearby towns. Everybody from the area is saying this was beyond imagination. And it had rained already for three or four days before the hurricane hit. I can cut these folks some slack, because I wouldn't have expected a hurricane to wipe out two inland areas either. It's the coastal residencies I don't understand. They just keep rebuilding and repeating the same old mistakes year after year--because insurance pays for it. Beach homes and beach businesses I think should be prohibited. In the past, that's why you had shacks for homes and businesses along the coast instead of multimillion dollar beach mansions.
