after the parents were murdered,a short time back.

This person has a wish to continue( not long started) studies to become a medical doctor,and has done some obvious research

to the point where Khon Kaen International University ,with it's halls of residence,has caught the eye.Some funds have been inherited.

What would be the best approach?,I understand Visa on arrival would not apply.for Africans.

It might be possible to do a change of visa status from a tourist visa to a non immigrant visa entry since it will be for university level studies.

Usually one has to leave the country to change a tourist visa to a non immigrant ED visa, but under certain conditions it can be done a number of weeks before the tourist visa expires, but I was told it has to be sent to Bkk to do so, but I am not sure which countries this applies to.

The easiest route would be having the university handle all the necessary documents for the student visa shortly after the student is accepted.

Only 15 days remaining on a tourist visa entry is required to do a change of visa status application.

Not to sound too critical, but is Thailand really the best place for an African wanting to go into medicine to study? Surely, there are better alternatives.
