Tourist Visa after an ED Visa

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, and thanx for this useful forum!

I got a quick question, I'm french, in my thirties, and currently in Samui with an ED visa that will last until mid-march. I don't intend to resume school after that, so i can't get an ED extension if i'm right?

But i'd like to take two months to travel around the country when i'm done with school, and i'd like to know if i can get a tourist visa for that, right after my ED visa's over. I guess it's not really a problem but i want to be sure cause visa rules are quite complicated. I assume i will have to get out of Thailand for that tourist visa? How long does it take all in all to get a tourist visa?

Thanks to anyone who can help

David

What's a "double entry tourist visa". This time I came to Thailand and got my 30 days on arrival. Is there another type of visa I can get outside of the country that gives me a longer stay?

A tourist visa gives you a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days at immigration. A 2 entry visa would allow you to enter twice getting 60 days each entry.
