Lest we forget.

Khao Lak’s resort area seems more like a desert than a walk through this tropical paradise. This area is now devoid of any vegetation except for the trees left behind.

I was there scuba diving a couple of weeks before it happened. I always wondered what happened to the people down the beach, selling fruit, massages, I assumed they must have drowned

Did they ever let those people go back to their baans or did they just build resorts there and leave them to rot?

I went back to Khao Lak in 2009 and it looked completely different,no huts, cheap accommodation, only big hotels and lots of opticians. I went to the Tsunami museum but there was hardly anything there,I got the impression they wanted to keep quiet about the whole thing in case it scared tourists, but that maybe was just me thinking that
