Wintery weather heats up coat sales

n5Winter-2.jpg
PATTAYA:--The arrival of winter-like weather is heating up the market for heavy coats.

“I’ve been living in Pattaya for more than ten years and I have never felt Pattaya as cold as it is now,” said Weerut Bhutrat, a 39-year-old coat vendor at Klong Tom Market near Jamlong. “It has also been cold a lot longer than previous years. Usually the chilly weather would last for a week, but this year is quite different.”

As a result, he said business has been brisk, possibly because he’s charging only slightly over the wholesale cost. Most coats run 280-500 baht.

I wonder how 'cold' it is. rolleyes.gif

Well it's currently 12 degrees up here in Phetchabun so if you have always been accustomed to night time temperatures of 25 degrees it certainly does feel cold.

In comparison to the west and the UK in particular 12 degrees would be a good summers day.

Forecasters are predicting night time temperatures in pattaya will increase from 19 C last night to 29C around next Friday 3 Januarysmile.png

Don't think so, we're still in for quite a few more nights with temperatures around 20, day highs on the other hand will be around 29 ºC.
