Thai chicken export to benefit from World Cup

The Director-General of the Livestock Development Department, Yukol Limlaemthong (ยุคล ลิ้มแหลมทอง) revealed that the export of Thai chicken will benefit from the upcoming World Cup. He said Thailand will be able to export chicken at 350,000 tons this year.

Mr. Yukol said that from January- April, the country has exported 83,000 tons of chicken, generating an income of 10,800 million baht. He said the number of export has increased from the same period from last year by 20 percent. He said the main market is Japan and Europe.

He disclosed that the department expects to export chicken at 350,000 tons this year. He said no problems should occur and added that the country will be able to export more than what was predicted.

Mr. Yukol said that there has been positive signs that during June when the World Cup kicks off, the number of chicken exports will be higher.

On the contrary, i would say that the World Cup is going to CUT the production in many businesses around Thailand !

World Cup = bad news for GPD growth.
