What do they mean by shutdown?

Featured Replies

Everyone is talking about the "shutdown." How do you shutdown a city? What exactly is going to happen next week? In all honesty, I hear people talking about this but I dont hear any specifics.

Is this going to be the same as a "crackdown" in which everyone goes along for a day and then its back to business as usual?

Just traffic problems, don't make important business appointments across town.

Road barricades or closures, stop access into the city.

They might blast transportation and electrical distribution centers as well as water and sewer mains.

The protestors will block the main roads so better stay away from BKK at all if you can. Traffic will be a nightmare. No traffic means not much food availlable so be prepared.

Hopefully the trains and metro's can still operate if not then it will be a drama. Some weeks ago the skytrain was without electric power and it was chaos as well.

If was a tourist i would fly directly to Phuket or Bali.

and don't let the upcountry bar girls into Soi Nana.
